Fulham manager Martin Jol's pursuit of a new striker has taken him to his homeland Holland, as today the Cottagers have reportedly made an enquiry for highly rated FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong

The Dutch international striker has been monitored by several other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, but it appears that Fulham could have the upper hand due to de Jong's relationship with Martin Jol.

Fulham could lose both Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora this month, meaning that a replacement will need to be found very quickly. Johnson has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, whilst QPR are believed to be in talks with Bobby Zamora.

Jol has now turned his attentions to de Jong, last season's Eredivisie top scorer. Valued at around 14.5 million GBP, the Cottagers will have to find a significant amount of money before a deal can be completed as Jol reportedly has just 8 million to spend this month.
