Gerrard confident FA Cup win will save season

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard thinks that a win over bitter rivals Everton could get the Reds' campaign back on track, and rescue their poor season. Liverpool will take on city rivals Everton in the FA Cup semi final this weekend.

Despite a Carling Cup success this year, when beating Cardiff City in the final on penalties, it appears that Liverpool players do not consider the 2011/2012 campaign a successful one.


"This is not only a semi-final, it is a semi-final against Everton," Gerrard said.


"For everyone at this club and everyone at Everton, it's a massive game. It could change our season for the best."
