Jan Vertonghen to join Tottenham

Ajax and Belgium international defender Jan Vertonghen is reportedly on the verge of a mega money move for Tottenham. The centre back's agent has been in London discussing personal terms with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Vertonghen has also been tracked by several other Premier League sides, including bitter rivals Arsenal, but it appears the Belgian will move to White Hart Lane in the next few days.


"We hope to make a deal quite soon," an Ajax spokesman revealed. "Jan deserves a move to a big league and wants to join Spurs.


"But he has a price and that's what we're talking about with Tottenham."


It is understood that Tottenham will pay around 14m GBP for the defender.
