Chelsea close in on Wallace transfer

Chelsea are believed to have moved a step closer to securing a move for Brazilian starlet Wallace from Fluminese. Roberto di Matteo's club have apparently agreed a fee with the Brazilian club, and the full back could complete his move next summer.

The 18-year-old has also attracted the interests of Man City, but it appears Chelsea are the favorites to secure his coveted signature.


The manager of Fluminese admitted that a number of clubs were in for his player: "Wallace has been negotiated for a long time. He is a player that has impressed. Do you think people abroad sign someone based on one game?


"They watch a player for two, three months - sometimes even a year. They are taking a great player and Fluminense are completely right in selling him."
