Pirlo "almost joined Chelsea"

Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo has sensationally revealed that he very nearly joined Chelsea three years ago, when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Pirlo is widely regarded as one of the greatest playmakers to play in Serie A, and as exclusively revealed to the Daily Mail, the Italian very nearly joined Chelsea: 


‘I had already started negotiating with the people at Chelsea but then finally Milan didn’t let me go. That’s why I stayed.



‘Certainly it would have been a different experience that I’d have liked, especially when I was 30 years old. So why not? But unfortunately it didn’t happen.’
