Liverpool winger Downing happy with form

Liverpool winger Stewart Downing is happy with his recent form at Anfield, despite talk of a move away from Anfield at the end of the season. Downing has been put in the shop window in recent months, but a recent improvement in form has seen Rodgers offer the player an olive branch.

Downing said, when asked about his current performance being the best of his career: "I'd probably say so.


"The first season was patchy, I was in and out, but this year since I came back into the side it's been consistently quite good. It's probably because the team is playing quite well that it's all come together. "A good run of games has been good for me. I think I've proven in my career that if I play regularly, I tend to give good and consistent performances."
