Juan Mata To Stay At Chelsea
Amidst all the pre-July transfer stories and speculations, Juan Mata’s future at the Stamford Bridge has been one of the most discussed topics. It was earlier reported that Mata’s Chelsea stay has been put in doubt following which Barcelona showed great interest in the club’s Player of the Season.
It was reported that Mourinho wasn’t very convinced by the former Valencia man and Mata could well end up being surplus to the requirements. Mourinho has been looking to reincarnate the current Chelsea squad by signing new players and getting rid of many so-called star players.
But it seems now, that Juan Mata’s future at Chelsea is secure with Mourinho planning to make the star midfielder pivotal to his new team. Now that Chelsea have cleared their stand on the Spanish whiz, they will also fend off Barcelona’s growing interest in the player who is believed to be a huge part of the plan for the next season.
Chelsea are understood to be extremely unhappy with all the rumours linking Mata to a club exit this summer. Mata, who is currently on international duty with the Spanish side at the Confederations Cup, is reportedly concerned at the reports that suggest he might be a surplus to Mourinho’s requirements.
Mourinho, who had earlier intended to refrain from holding talks with any of his Confederations Cup players, has decided now to speak to Mata and assure him of his integral role at Chelsea in future. Mourinho is set to make big changes to his side this summer, with speculations that suggest both Torres and Demba Ba would be making an exit ahead of the next season.
