Mignolet agent claims Liverpool deal not done yet
Mignolet agent claims Liverpool deal not done yet

According to Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet’s agent, Guy Vandermissen, the deal with Liverpool is not done yet but he is hopeful of the contract being signed soon.
According to reports, the two clubs had agreed to a fee in the range of 11million pounds for the keeper, who has won 13 caps for his country. But Vandermissen denies any confirmation from either club, although he expressed his hope for the deal to be finalized soon.
"We hope that there can be a deal and he can go to Liverpool.
"If you go from Sunderland to Liverpool it is a big step forward. You have to make decisions at certain times."
Liverpool insisted Mignolet’s transfer to their club should not be looked upon as a replacement for Pepe Reina and that the two will have to compete for a place in team. Reina also seems happy with the prospect of competition from Mignolet. He also offered to help the Belgian international, if he ever needed any.
"Every team needs competitors, and when it's positive it is more than welcome. If it is finally done I'll welcome him a lot, and anything he needs, I'm here."
Mignolet is not troubled by the fact that a move to Anfield wouldn’t mean European football. He also hopes to rival Thibaut Courtois to win the No. 1 slot for the international side. Courtois is on loan at Atletico Madrid from Chelsea.
