Moore goal gets Villa draw
Aston Villa have moved from 10th to 9th in the Premiership thanks to a deflected late goal from Luke Moore. Gaby Agbonlahor made a useful run down the right to smash a cross in which hit Moore and went past the Bolton keeper, and cancelled out Nicolas Anelka's early goal.
There were plenty of empty blue seats again at the Reebok, although not quite as many as last Thursday when 10,848 attended the club's Uefa Cup match.
Nicolas Anelka, who left the field in the second half with a thigh injury, gave Bolton a deserved lead with a free-kick into the top corner.
However, Bolton would've been hard done by as they had two penalty games very suspectly turned down.
Villa found their way back in somewhat controversial circumstances. A controversial decision was given to allow Aston Villa the throw in, which was taken quickly and allowed Agbonlahor to fizz a ball into the box which hit Moore and bundled into the net.
Megson will be disappointed not to have grabbed three points on his first game in charge, however, 1 point against this improving Villa side will not be too disheartening for the new boss.
