Preview: Derby vs Everton

Everton manager David Moyes could hand Tim Cahill his first Barclays Premier League start since injuring his metatarsal in March at Derby. Gravesen and Cahill returned impressively in midweek, and Derby know they must start putting points on the board as they only have won win to their name this year.

Derby and Everton are meeting for the 125th time in the league, and first time in six seasons.

Dean Leacock and Claude Davis are doubts with groin injuries, while Andy Todd looks set to miss out.

For Everton, Cahill will make his return to the Premiership, but Phil Neville and Tony Hibbert are out through suspension whilst Andy Johnson continues to be on the sidelines with injuries.

Billy Davies on Moyes

"I have known David Moyes for a long time. He was an excellent player with regard to his work ethic, how focused he was and his determination.

"We had many many good times together. I'm delighted with how well he's done.

"I want to stuff him at the weekend and I'm sure he wants to stuff me, but it will be nice to see him."

Moyes on Cahill's return

"Against Larissa, he showed how important he is for us with his goal, and he gives us something different.

"We have to be careful with him. We continually hear these days how these metatarsal injuries keep coming and how easy it is to do more damage, so we will watch him and nurse him along.

"He is different to what we have. He can play virtually up front, but coming from deep it is hard for defenders to pick him up.

"He trained okay on Friday and he seems fine. He could be in contention if we think it is right."

Derby 0-2 Everton

Cahill will be the main man against Derby, and we continue to wonder where on earth Derby are going to pick up points this season. Cahill looked fresh and ready against Larissa in the UEFA Cup, and will need to be stopped if Derby are to get anything today.

Prediction: 2-0 to Everton

Goalscorer: Tim Cahill
