Everton To Secure Aiden McGeady

Everton look all set to complete a £4m deal that would land the Republic of Ireland international, Aiden McGeady on their side. It has been reported by The Scotsman that the Spartak Moscow winger could well be the first signing of Roberto Martinez’s Goodison Park reign.

The former Celtic man has only one year left on his contract with his present club, Spartak Moscow. The wide-man moved in the Russian Premier League side at an investment of 9.5million pounds but considering the time left with the club, they should expect lesser offers for McGeady.

The Everton boss has targeted the winger since his time at Wigan Athletic, when he placed a £5m bid for him just to see it get turned down. But now he seems really close to completing the deal for McGeady.

Sunderland have also been linked with McGeady for his summer move. The club are said to be keen on the player and Paolo Di Canio will try to lure the attacker to his side by offering him a chance to play alongside his compatriots John O’Shea, James McClean and Keiren Westwood at the Stadium of Light.

Before his time at Spartak Moscow, McGeady spent seven successful seasons at Celtic, appearing in over 250 matches and winning four SPL titles. He has scored 12 goals for Spartak in 80 appearances.
