Erik Pieters Excited To Be With Stoke City

The Netherland international, who officially completed a move to Stoke City yesterday from PSV, seems excited to experience the top flight of English football. Erik Pieters is elated to have successfully completed the deal with Britannia Stadium.

The 24-year-old revealed that he could not wait to make his Premier League debut. Pieters agreed to move to Stoke on a four-year deal after the clubs agreed on £3 million move for him.


The Dutch also said that he has wanted to be a part of the Premier League for long now as he looks to test himself against quality opponents. He spoke to the club’s official website:

 “It’s one of the hardest competitions to play in with some great players and teams and I’m really excited about it.”


“I’m really looking forward to playing for this club. It’s important for me that the first impression is good and I’ve got a great feeling about Stoke City.”


The left-back acknowledges that leaving Holland wouldn’t be an easy thing to do but he is also excited at the prospect of meeting his new teammates.


“I’m glad everything has been sorted out,” Pieters continued. “There has been a lot of talk about me but now everything is finalised I can look forward to the future with Stoke City.


“It will be difficult to leave Holland because everyone, family and friends, are there but it won’t be a problem as they are only an hour’s flight away.”


“I can’t wait for the start of pre-season – it’s a chance to meet new people and my new team-mates and it can’t happen too soon.”
