Everton near loan move for Gerard Deulofeu

Everton are now favourites to secure a loan transfer move for Barcelona's hot prospect Gerard Deulofeu. The forward wants to move to England in search of regular first team football as he has yet to be guaranteed a promotion to Barcelona's first team squad.

Tottenham were also believed to have shown some interest in the Spanish striker, whilst Arsenal too were linked with a move last week. However, both London teams want to sign Deulofeu on a permanent deal, something that Barcelona have categorically ruled out. A loan deal is preferred by the Spanish side.


Everton's manager Roberto Martinez has been in contact with club representatives at Barcelona and is hoping to wrap up a deal for the 19-year-old under-21 international in the next two weeks.
