Dejan Stankovic Bids Goodbye To Inter

Inter Milan midfielder Dejan Stankovic bade goodbye to his fans on Saturday, after having terminated his contract with the club. The Serbian international published an emotional letter for the Inter fans in which he expressed his gratitude for their support.

The 34-year-old ended his 9 year long run with the San Siro giants after having made only three appearances last year. Stankovic however revealed his desire to stay with the club in June, but was not offered any contract extension by the club.

Dejan, during his time with the Nerazzuri, won five Serie A title, four Coppa Italia and a Champions League title. The Serbian has also drawn attention of clubs like Fiorentina and many from the MLS. In his letter to his fans, he revealed his feelings for the club and their support.

"Dear Nerazzurri fans, This is your 'Drago' speaking, with a sense of emotion but also with great pleasure.

"I don't know if I can find the right words to say goodbye and to thank you properly for everything you have given me, your affection, your trust and your honesty.

"The last 10 years have been the best of my life. I have grown both as a man and, with immense joy, as a footballer.

"My family and I want to thank the Moratti family. I'd like to mention my president in particular: he gave me the opportunity to wear the Inter shirt, which I have been happy and extremely honoured first of all to play in, and then with which I was able to win everything there was to win."
