Arsenal interested in Atletico Mineiros Bernard

Arsenal are interested in the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Bernard who enjoyed a season of great  progress while playing along with Ronaldinho for Atletico Mineiro.

His rise to prominence led to a call up from Luiz Felipe Scolari to the Brazilian national team where he impressed coming on as a substitute against Uruguay in Brazil’s winning campaign in the FIFA 2013 Confederations Cup.

The Daily Star reports that the North London club are interested in the Brazilian whizkid and want to make him their first big signing of the summer. Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham were also interested in Bernard earlier this summer.

Bernard, who is set to play the Copa Libertadores has given the indication that he is likely to leave his current club by suggesting that “ If it’s my last game or not, it will be one of the most important titles in my career”.

If will be fascinating to see whether Wenger is willing to make a move for the player as the Gunners are already stacked with lots of talent in the attacking department.
