The French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Edinson Cavani from Serie A side Napoli on a five-year deal. The transfer fee for the Uruguayan has not been revealed but is understood to be around in the region of £55m which is a record transfer for the Mega-rich French club.
26-year-old Cavani, had been associated with a number of top European teams this summer, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid also speculated to be interested in capturing his signature.
However, Paris Saint-Germain who are bankrolled by Qatari owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi, looked his next likely switch and the Ligue 1 champions have now acquired his services.
"The arrival of Edinson Cavani demonstrates the ability of the club to attract the best players in the world," said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
"The player seduced by our project is pleased to join an ambitious and eager to take on new challenges team. We are particularly pleased to offer the Parisian public a player of immense talent and one who is coveted everywhere."
