Quincy Owusu-Abeyie linked with Sunderland transfer
Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has been linked with a Sunderland transfer as a potential move to Crystal Palace hit the rocks yesterday evening, with the Panathinaikos and former Arsenal forward reportedly demanding a whopping £50,000 a week to move to Selhurst Park.
Sunderland have been very busy in the transfer market so far this summer and coach Paolo Di Canio is still hoping to bring in at least one more attacking player before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
It is understood that Owusu-Abeyie is desperate to return to the Premier League but his agent is trying to arrange the best possible financial package as the player is available on a free transfer from Greek side Panathinaikos.
Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has reportedly decided to pursue other targets leaving Sunderland in pole position to sign the player.
