Clint Dempsey Set For Seattle Sounders?
The FOX Soccer reports that out of favour Tottenham player Clint Dempsey is set to move away from Spurs. The source claims that the United States men’s national team captain is close to agreeing a deal with Seattle Sounders.
Another report doing the rounds suggests that Everton are monitoring the player’s situation, following the arrival of Roberto Soldado and Nacer Chadli, and a bid could be in place soon.
The 30-year-old American international moved to Spurs a year ago from Fulham in a deal that cost them over £6million.
Sigi Schmid, the Sounders boss, denied on Friday that the deal for Dempsey had been finalised but he hinted interest in him.
"I know Clint. I talked to him when he was here when he was playing against Panama. I always follow what he does and his career and what he did in MLS, but there's nothing there that I can say right now. We're always looking for good players. You can't really close the door on anything, but right now there's nothing that's nailed down and concrete."
