Liverpool Near Cissokho Signing

According to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser, Liverpool are closing in on Valencia defender Aly Cissokho. The French international has been chased by the club for quite some time now, with the Reds keen on signing him on a season-long loan deal with an option to make it permanent.

 It has been claimed by the source that the full-back has agreed personal terms with the Merseysiders but the clubs have yet to agree on the transfer fee. It remains to be cleared if the deal in place is for a loan or a permanent one.


Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is known to be an admirer of the Frenchman and he wants the player to compete with Jose Enrique on the left flank.


Cissokho moved to Valencia from Lyon last summer but has failed to meet the club’s expectations. Having started off as the first choice left-back, he lost his place to Andres Guardado. He also scored 2 goals in 25 La Liga appearances for los Che.
