Dempsey Set For MLS
Tottenham have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Major League Soccer over Clint Dempsey’s transfer. It had been reported recently that the 30-year-old was close to joining Seattle Sounders.
According to Goal.com, the American international will now make a return to his homeland after having made 43 appearances for Spurs and scoring 12 goals for them. The player was also on Everton’s radar but he apparently chose to move to Seattle Sounders.
The talented midfielder has been capped 99 times for the United States and joined Tottenham from Fulham a year ago. He has fallen further down the pecking order, following the arrival of Roberto Soldado and was hopeful of a move ahead of the upcoming World Cup in 2014.
