Gervinho completes Roma switch
Arsenal striker Gervinho has completed his move to Serie A club AS Roma for an undisclosed fee.
The 26 year old Ivory Coast international moved to the Emirates in 2011 after a successful campaign for Lille as he helped them to their first ever Ligue 1 triumph in 56 years.
Gervinho, however, struggled to live up to the expectations in his first season at the London club and could only manage 4 goals in all competitions.
His second season was only relatively better as he scored 7 times for the Gunners helping them to a finish inside the top four.
Manager Arsene Wenger has decided to get rid of the inconsistent winger as he attempts to free off funds to bring in fresh faces this summer.
Roma have been proactive this summer as they aim to rebuild their squad and have already signed Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman from PSV Eindhoven.
A statement on the official of website of Arsenal read: "Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Gervinho for his contribution to the club and wish him well for his future career."
