Arsenal target Suarez told to apologize to Liverpool fans

Suarez: told to say sorry

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers refused to call time on Luis Suarez's future at Anfield, insisting that there are a few things that the Uruguayan can do to restore club supporter faith in the player again.

Uruguayan Suarez had requested the opportunity to speak to Arsenal after the London club reportedly matched a clause in his contract that allowed the player to speak with interested parties. Suarez also claimed that there was an agreement in place that would let him leave Anfield for a team qualified for this coming season's Champions League. This had been quickly denied by Liverpool.

However, Rodgers is ready to move on and told reporters: "There are a couple of things Luis can do and initially there will be a recognition that (there needs to be) an apology to his team-mates and the club.

"When we get that commitment back from him that he’s ready to fight as he always has done. Luis Suarez has fought tirelessly for this club from day one so when I see he’s not the same Luis Suarez I have to protect the fans and the players of this club because they deserve more than that.

"He has spent some days working on his own. The group has been separate to that and working very hard. When he returns from his international trip next week we will take it from there."
