Everton boss Martinez still working hard to bring new faces
Newly appointed Everton boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that the club are still working hard to bring in fresh faces to the Goodison Park but insisted that he is not 'desperate'.
The former Wigan manager, who led the Championship side to a FA Cup triumph last season, was appointed as the new manager at Everton following David Moyes' departure this summer.
The young Spaniard has had an active transfer window bringing in four new players this summer including Aroune Kone and Antolin Alcaraz from his former club, Joel Robles from Atletico and a loan deal for Gerard Delofleu from Barcelona.
The Toffees are believed to be interested in a loan move for out of favor Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry but nothing has been finalized as of yet.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "It's not about being hopeful, it's about working hard and trying to identify maybe one player if we could. But he has to be the right character to adapt to what we want to do at Everton.
"It's not that we are desperate in terms of numbers - that is not the case. We've got good numbers in the squad but we need maybe to have a little bit of help in an area.
"As I say, we will work extremely hard in that respect (to find someone)."
