Dossena delighted to be back in the Premier League

Former Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena has expressed delight after securing his move to the Premier League side Sunderland on transfer deadline day.

The Italy international completed a switch to the Black Cats on the transfer deadline day from Napoli. The full back had earlier spent 18 months at Anfield before being sold to the Serie A side back in 2010.


The 31 year old is excited to be working with an Italian manager and had words of praise for the English domestic league.


"I'm very happy because I start to work with (an) Italian head coach and I know his kind of football, his kind of work; he worked hard and tried to do his best on the pitch and it's the same from my career.


"The Premier League is the (most) beautiful league in the world. I left in 2010 and now I come back because I think that I can do my best for Sunderland."
