Liverpool looking to sign Montoya on a pre-contract

Liverpool are reportedly set to sign Barcelona defender Martin Montoya on a pre-contract in January, according to sources in Spain.

The talented 22-year-old who emerged from Barcelona's famous La Masia academy, has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen in recent weeks, but the Reds are hopeful of playing spoilsport to the plans of his admirers by trying to acquire his services before others make the move.


Montoya's current contract with the Catalan giants is set to expire in the summer.
