Chelsea eye move for Marseille midfielder Imbula
Chelsea are readying a transfer offer for Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula during the January transfer window, according to The Daily Express.
The Blues manager Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen his squad and considers the talented defensive midfielder Imbula as a top transfer target for the winter transfer window.
Marseille midfielder Imbula has been in impressive form since his emergence into the first team set-up following his switch to the Stade Velodrome from Guingamp and London rivals Arsenal are also said to be monitoring the player's progress.
Having failed in the pursuit of Juventus's Paul Pogba, Mourinho is set to make a move for Imbula who could be available at a much cheaper price of £25m , as he considers the player as an alternative defensive option to the likes of John Obi Mikel and Michael Essien.
