Arteta out for a few weeks
Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta faces a spell on the sidelines after injuring himself during the UEFA Cup tie with Nurnberg. The Spaniard has been an important player this year for the Merseyside team, but will be missing for the next couple of games and international duty.
The Toffees playmaker went on to miss the 1-1 draw in the Premiership against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and is doubtful for their next match against Sunderland on November 24 at Goodison Park.
Toffees head physio Mick Rathbone told icliverpool: "Mikel has quite a nasty groin strain and problem and he has to rest now for a couple of weeks and we will reassess him in a few weeks' time.
"He dug deep in Nurnberg but was struggling during the second half there, and had no chance of playing on Sunday."
