Liverpool eyeing move for Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez
Liverpool are reportedly preparing a move for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez, as a possible replacement for Luis Suarez next summer, according to The Sunday Mirror.
The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is keen on finding a suitable striker to replace Luis Suarez, who looks likely to leave the Merseyside outfit next summer, and apparently sees the former Burnley player Jay Rodriguez as the perfect fit for the job upfront.
Rodriguez has been impressive since his move from the Clarets in 2012, and has been very effective acting as a second striker for the likes of Rickie Lambert and Pablo Osvaldo this season.
Should the club's star striker Luis Suarez leave the club at the end of the season, Liverpool could be set to pay a transfer fee above the £10m mark for Rodriguez, who was recently called up to represent the England national side.
Rodriguez has scored 13 goals in 51 appearances for the Saints so far.
