Newcastle monitoring PSV forward Ola Toivonen

Newcastle United are keeping an eye on PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen, according to The Daily Express.

The Tyneside outfit are keen on acquiring the services of the talented Swedish International, who could reportedly be available for a transfer fee of £2.5 million during the winter transfer window. 

Toivonen had turned down a switch to Norwich City in the summer, but is expected to leave the Dutch outfit during the New Year should he not sign a contract extension. 

The Magpies will be hopeful of landing the Swede in January to boost their attacking force , with the likes of Norwich City, Fulham and Serie A outfit Fiorentina also keen on the player's signature.
