Robin Van Persie hands in transfer request?
Robin Van Persie has been rumoured to have handed in a transfer request, according to former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson.
The talented Dutch star, who has been sidelined over the past few weeks with a sequel of groin and toe injuries, is said to have expressed his desire of leaving Old Trafford to manager David Moyes on Tuesday.
"There's all sorts of rumours coming out of the training ground at the moment," Lawrenson said.
"One or two of the press boys that I know that cover Manchester United, they're even saying that the big whisper is Van Persie might have asked for a transfer on Tuesday. So if that happens, what a mess that's going to be for David Moyes."
Robin Van Persie is apparently unhappy with the way the club has been performing under David Moyes in recent weeks, and this has brought up the speculation that the player could well find himself a new club during the New Year.
Van Persie joined the Red Devils for £24m last summer, having ended his 8 year association with Arsenal.
