West Ham United eye move for Heerenveen star Alfred Finnbogason
West Ham are set to fight it out with Scottish champions Celtic over the signature of Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason in the winter transfer window.
The Hammers manager Sam Allardyce has been a huge admirer of the Icelandic international's talents, and has been linked with the player's services in recent months.
The 24-year-old, who has amassed 40 goals in his last 45 games of the Dutch club, is expected to make a move from the club during the New Year, and is expected to be the subject of bidding war in the upcoming transfer window.
West Ham are likely to make an initial bid of around £5m in the New Year, with the likes of Celtic, Napoli and Lazio also monitoring the player's transfer situation.
