Ipswich Town table offer for Tom Lawrence
Ipswich Town table offer for Tom Lawrence
Newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town are to kickstart their transfer window activity with a move for Rangers' attacker Tom Lawrence. The Welshman is said to be keen on a move south of the border and could be available for around £10 million.
The 30-year-old has plenty of experience, having been an Everton and Manchester United youth prospect, even appearing once in the league for the latter. Spells on loan at Carlisle, Yeovil Town and Rotherham United were sandwiched around a disappointing move to Leicester City, but his career really took off in 2015-16 after a move to Blackburn. The journeyman then went on to Cardiff and Ipswich for two loan spells, before finally settling down in 2017 at Derby County, appearing 170 times and scoring 36 goals. A move to Rangers followed in 2022. Now, Lawrence looks set for a return to Portman Road with Ipswich.
Capped 23 times by his country, the Welsh international is very experienced and is seen as the type of player that Ipswich want to add to provide attacking depth to their squad for their first season back in the top flight.
A deal is likely to be concluded this week.
