AS Roma linked with move for Everton's Johnny Heitinga

Italian giants AS Roma are readying a January swoop for Everton defender John Heitinga, according to a report.

The 30-year-old Dutch international is yet to feature for the Toffees this season, and with his contract set to expire in the summer, a report from Italian newspaper Il Messaggero claims that the Capital club are keeping a close eye on the former Atletico Madrid man, with the future of defender Nicolas Burdisso under some uncertainty.


Nicolas Burdisso in understood to be keen on leaving the club sooner rather than later, as he wants a return to his hometown club Boca Juniors after his nine year stay in Italy.


Heitinga has also attracted interest from Fiorentina.
