Crystal Palace step up Simon Makienok interest

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has entered the race to sign highly rated Denmark international striker Simon Makienok. The Eagles have been linked with the 6 foot 7 striker for over a month but have yet to make a formal offer for the Brondby frontman.

Makienok has an impressive goalscoring record at Brondby since his arrival there from Koge back in 2012 and now a move to the Premier League could be secured before the end of the January transfer window. Tony Pulis is impressed with the burly striker and believes he would be a great addition and add competition for places in the squad.

Palace are currently relying on Marouane Chamakh as their first choice striker, but the long term plan is to add a new young forward to their squad in time for the second half of the Premier League season.
