Chelsea front-runners to sign Southampton defender

Chelsea are considered favourites to land the signature of Southampton full-back Luke Shaw during the winter transfer window.

According to UK bookmakers SkyBET and BetVictor, the Blues are odds-on to secure the services of the talented England Under-21 international in January.

The 18-year-old youngster has been a main stay in the Saints' line-up since last season and has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City over the past year.

Manchester City are considered outsiders at 25-1, as BetVictor are confident that Shaw will not make a move to the Citizens this month.

Shaw is contracted with the South Coast outfit until the summer of 2018.
