Everton fined for tapping up
Everton have been fined £45,000 and warned over their future conduct after they were found guilty of an unauthorized approach for Nottingham forest defender Jamaal Lascelles. The approach was made in 2010 when David Moyes was still at the helm at Goodison Park.
Since then the 20 year old has gone on to make 14 League appearances at the City Ground and represent England at U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels.
This is what the FA said in a statement,
"Everton have been fined £45,000 and warned as to their future conduct after breaching the FA's football agent regulations."
"The breach relates to the club's unauthorised approach to Jamaal Lascelles whilst the player was under a scholarship agreement at Nottingham Forest FC in the latter part of 2010.
"Andy Niedzwiecki, the football agent who was representing Mr Lascelles at the time, has been fined £10,000 and warned as to his future conduct after admitting his part in the matter.
"Jamaal Lascelles, who also admitted his part in the affair, has been severely warned as to his future conduct."
The time frame for any appeal has passed.
The young defender has caught the eye of many Premier league clubs including Arsenal and Newcastle, Forest have offered him a new contract. The club could consider a sale should an offer of more than £3million was made and the player loaned back for the season.
