Man Utd handed boost in signing Real Madrid star

Manchester United have been handed a boost in signing Real Madrid defender Eder Mititao this summer.

The Red Devils were very interested in landing the Brazil international in 2019, but he chose to join Madrid from Porto.

Militao has been a key player at the heart of their defence, but Mundo Deportivo claim that he could be sold this summer.

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been impressed by Aurelien Tchouameni's performances in central defence this season.

The Frenchman could be considered for the position more often next term. As a result, Militao is regarded as a 'transferable' player.

The news should attract interest from the Red Devils, who are eyeing a marquee centre-back to replace outgoing Raphael Varane.

Varane has confirmed his decision to leave when his contract expires on June 30. United want an experienced ace to replace him.

Militao would be a like-for-like replacement with his strong ball-playing skills, aerial presence and ability to clear his lines.
