Fulham move for Steven Defour dead in the water
Fulham's move for midfielder Steven Defour appears to be finished as the Belgian international has told his agent that he would prefer to stay at Porto for the time being.
The Cottagers' manager Rene Meulensteen had hoped to bring in the talented midfielder in the January transfer window, but the player has ruled out a move to Fulham.
With three and a half years remaining on his Porto contract, it is understood the Portuguese side would have commanded a fee of approximately £15 million for the international midfielder.
Porto have also told Defour that he remains an important part of the first team squad and that they would prefer to keep him until the end of the campaign.
