Arsenal make £24.7m transfer offer for German wonderkid

Arsenal have reportedly made a bid worth £24.7m for the services of Schalke 04 midfielder Julian Draxler in the winter transfer window.

The Gunners have been strongly linked with a move for the talented 20-year-old since the start of the winter, and have now made a formal bid for the player's services, as per The Daily Star.

However, a deal looks unlikely to happen during the current transfer window, with the Bundesliga outfit unwilling to allow the sale of Draxler for a fee of less than £37m, which matches his buy-out clause.

Draxler has not featured since Schalke's 2-0 home win over Basel in the Champions League due to a knee injury.
