Atletico Madrid interested in former Gunner

Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on landing the signature of Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela this summer.

The 25-year-old Mexican international has been in great form for Sociedad since his switch from Arsenal in 2011, and is considered as a potential replacement for Diego Costa, who has been linked with a summer switch to Premier League giants Chelsea in recent weeks.

 

According to Football Direct News, a deal is likely to be pushed through by agent Jorge Mendes, who owns the agency which both Costa and Vela belong to.

 

Atletico are currently top of La Liga.
