Southampton have reportedly joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker this summer.
The Bluebirds were relegated to the Championship last weekend, following their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
According to The Mail, the Saints have emerged as contenders for the England international's signature after it emerged that he has a release clause in his contract claiming that he could leave the Welsh outfit if they get relegates.
Caulker has recently stated of his desire to stay put with the Bluebirds alongside keeper David Marshall, and help the club gain promotion to the top tier in the first coming.
