Riccardo Montolivo to miss World Cup

AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo had to be substituted during last night's 0-0 friendly draw with the Republic of Ireland. The Milan captain is set to miss the World Cup.

The player has sustained a suspected broken leg during the game and had been sent immediately for treatment at a hospital after being taken off.

The midfielder will now miss Italy's tournament where his country had been drawn against England, Costa Rica and Uruguay.
