Cheikhou Kouyate on West Ham radar

West Ham are reportedly in pole position to sign Anderlecht's centre back Cheikhou Kouyate. The talented defender could make a move to the Hammers in a 3.5 million Euro transfer deal.

The defender has long been linked with a move to England and as recently as January was mentioned as part of a transfer deal to join Liverpool.

"We have had talks with Sevilla, Valencia and Salzburg, and West Ham have contacted us," Herman Van Holsbeeck, Anderlecht's sporting director, told Estadio Deportivo.

"We want to make the best possible decision and sell from the most profitable aspect for us, although we take into account the opinion of the player."
