Liverpool in race for Adam Johnson?

Liverpool will reportedly battle it out with arch rivals Everton for the services of Sunderland winger Adam Johnson this summer, according to The Express.

Johnson had a sensational season with the Black Cats, as a minor miracle helped them remain in the English top flight for yet another season.

The Express claims that the former Manchester City man will be offered to a number of clubs in the upcoming transfer window, as the Wearside outfit aim to reduce their financial wage structure for the next campaign.

The Toffees were presumed to be the likely destination for Johnson, but their reluctance to sign him up on a permanent transfer, could pave the way for the Reds to seal a deal for the talented star.
