Liverpool closing in on Benfica star

Liverpool are reportedly close to sealing a deal for Benfica midfielder Lazar Markovic during the upcoming transfer window.

Markovic, who was previously linked with Chelsea, is considered to be keen on moving to the Merseyside outfit this summer. The People claims that Benfica could allow the deal at a much lower transfer fee than the initial £25m demanded for his sale.

The Reds have emerged as favourites to sign the talented star, following reports that the Lisbon outfit are ready to make a move for out-of-favour Manchester United winger Nani this summer.
