Barton charged with assault

The Manchester police have charged former Man City midfielder Joey Barton with assault following his bust up with Ousmane Dabo last season. Newcastle's Barton attacked Dabo during training at the end of last season.

Since the incident, Joey Barton has moved to Newcastle in a £5.8m deal. Barton has been charged with assault and answered bail yesterday.
