Man City to sign Fernando

Manchester City have successfully agreed upon a deal to sign midfielder Fernando from FC Porto during the summer transfer window.

The Citizens have been constantly linked with a move for Fernando over the past few weeks, having failed to seal a deal in January. Reports now claim that the Premier League champions will sign the 26-year-old for a fee of around £12m, once the transfer window reopens on July 1.

"FC Porto hereby informs the market that it has reached an agreement with Manchester City for the permanent transfer of professional footballer Fernando Reges for 15 million euros," a club statement read.

Fernando will be City's second signing of the summer, following Bacary Sagna's arrival on a free transfer from Arsenal
