Alvaro Negredo to stay at Man City

Manchester City have angrily denied speculation that Alvaro Negredo will be heading out of the Etihad Stadium after just one season at the club.The talented striker had found himself on the bench towards the end of City's title winning campaign last season and had been expected to return to his homeland as Atletico Madrid scour Europe to find a replacement for Chelsea bound Diego Costa.

However, City have told Negredo that he is an important squad player and will not be allowed to leave in the summer transfer window.
