United's vision and determination impressed me, says Di Maria

Manchester United’s latest signing Angel Di Maria is delighted after joining the English club and insists the Red Devils’ grit and determination to get back to winning ways swayed him to a move away from Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old winger joined the Old Trafford club for a whopping £59.7million, after making 190 appearances for the Spanish club.

The Argentine international, who has 52 national caps to his name, started his professional career with Rosario Central in 2005 before he moved to Portuguese side Benfica in 2007. 76 Primeira Liga appearances later, he joined the La Liga side in 2010, and was a part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad that won the Champions League in Lisbon last year.

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Spain and there were a lot of clubs interested in me, but United is the only club that I would have left Real Madrid for”, Di Maria was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

“I am impressed by the vision and determination everyone has to get this club back to the top – where it belongs. I now just cannot wait to get started”, he added.
