Atletico Madrid want Emre

Atletico Madrid are considering a January transfer swoop for Turkish midfielder Emre. The ex-Inter Milan and Galatasaray player is reportedly weighing up his options at Newcastle and is tempted by a move to Spain.

Emre has been persistently linked with a move away from Newcastle after a number of high-profile problems with fellow players and Sam Allardyce may be keen to cash in.

Newcastle may listen to offers in the £5m range, but Fenerbahce will also be closely monitoring Emre's situation.

Allardyce is keen to bring in another midfielder in the January transfer window to partner Joey Barton as he looks to add a little extra flair to his midfield, and Emre could be the player on his way out.
